The short version

Hoshira does not ask you to create an account and the developer does not collect your personal data. Your progress and settings stay on your device.

What the app stores on your device

To work, the app saves the following locally on your phone: your game progress, streaks, your Cosmic Atlas collection, and your settings (such as language and reminder preference). This data is not sent to the developer or to any server, and removing the app removes it.

What we collect

Nothing. The developer does not collect, receive or store your name, email, location, contacts, device identifiers or usage data.

Notifications

Reminders are optional and off until you turn them on: the daily reminder, and reminders for upcoming sky events such as eclipses and meteor showers. They are local notifications scheduled on your device; no push-notification server is involved. You can turn it off in the app or in your device settings at any time.

Advertising and analytics

Hoshira shows no ads. At the time of writing it uses no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking services.

Third-party services

The app does not send your data to third parties. Downloading the app through the Apple App Store or Google Play is governed by those stores' own privacy policies.

Children

Hoshira is for a general audience. It does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Future changes

If analytics or crash reporting is ever added, this policy will be updated before that release and will say what is collected and how to opt out.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
